The Adlerweg trail route, which runs through the entire state, symbolises a proud eagle, spreading its 'wings' across the state of Tirol. This route starts in St. Johann in Tirol and proceeds across the Karwendel up to St. Anton am Arlberg and into Lechtal. The Adlerweg trail proceeds in 23 stages over 300km, right through Tirol and is the number one long distance hiking route in the world. From relaxed leisure hikers through to experienced alpinists, everyone will find terrain to suit them on the Adlerweg trail. At every turn hikers can learn more about the history of the state, about its traditions, handcrafts and about the Tirol people.
